Awaken your senses within the magic of Slieve Gullion forest. This is a perfect haven to deepen your spiritual connection with nature. This sacred mountain is a mythological sleeping giant where you will rest, reconnect and re-energise over the next 2.5 hours.
Ann will support your forest immersion through guided mindfulness meditation and she will offer you creative invitations to deepen your connection with nature. You will begin to gently slow down and switch off, while awakening your senses. This is the perfect chance for a digital detox and to relieve techno-stress.
Forest Bathing is an evidence-based wellness practice which originated in Japan in the 1980’s as a stress prevention intervention. 2 hours in the forest boosts your immunity for up to 10 days. Your forest experience will end with a tea ceremony with foraged elderberry cordial (which is full of vitamin C & also boosts immunity) and home made short bread.
After our nature immersion we will travel a short distance to Meigh village to Ann’s quirky, creative healing space, a cosy 2nd World War hut. Relax and continue to awaken you senses over a locally produced, seasonal, sensory, three-course lunch: eg Spring Greens Soup with spinach, kale, celery and scallion & home-baked wheaten bread; a vegetarian salad with local goats cheese, walnuts with a beetroot and mint chutney. And for dessert, apple tart , served with cream, tea/coffee, including herbal teas. Recipes will be available to take home.
After lunch we will explore how you can bring the practice of forest bathing/nature connection into your everyday life. We will gently end the event with a guided meditation, taking the gift of mindfulness home with you.
Notes for Visitors
Please wear warm, comfortable clothing, hat, gloves and a few extra layers as we will be standing and sitting still in the forest, waterproofs, walking boots/shoes. Also bring a small rucksack, a warm drink for your comfort. Ann will provide small waterproof yoga mats and other materials to support your immersion.
